well hopped the border tonight into Port Huron and picked up 3 travel hammocks at MC Sports for 14.95 apiece!! having 5 kids i could not resist so i bought them and was just playing with one outside and i must say i'm impressed-yes the suspension sucks but i mean it is a large comfy hammock for cheap and i must say it more than rivals my ENO for 1/4 the price with a "suspension" included-anyway thats all i have to say-the middle kids will be tickled in the morning

Don't know about Ontario, buy Quebec is figuring out the hammock thing just fine.
I was in a sporting goods store (small) in a tiny town called "Alma". I walked around the corner and saw a whole shelving unit stuffed with hammocks and hammock accessories! About half of what they had could be considered for 'camping', but I was just happy they had any. Parachute style hammocks and brands I had not heard of, but they looked and were priced very much like the Byer of Maine stuff.
But dang, $15 per hammock is worth a hop across the border. Great deal!

well this has been their day so far-they have been out there for hrs-if only i could get them to cut my grass (thats their big brother and sisters job but as you can see...)
Actually no- these are Grand Trunk UL Travel hammocks-I never saw those there
