Probably see both, don'tcha think? Both have a huge coolness factor.

Set a goal for the 2011 Mt.Rogers hang.
Get the mind of Grizz into this too.
Personally I can't wait to hang Bucky style.
Someday someone will come up with a light, viable stand for folks wanting a hammock when going somewhere like the PCT. I can feel it.

Looking forward to the developments on this!
Well yes ok I carry 6 foot hiking poles anyway....and who knows maybe someone will come up with a way to use them in a tensegrity system....but in the mean time we are all still curious about a better/lighter camp chair....so I've got the poles anyway, so if I find another 6 footer and a 3 footer lying about, and if I happen to have a square piece of nylon with 2 sewn channels (the side loops are optional) I can do this if I know I'll be in camp for a while:
If I'm paddle camping I'm going to carry my sling chair that fits in the hatches.
So what's the secret to setting one of these up? I don't have the materials here at work to do one proper, but I attempted to make a miniature mock up using surveyor's tape and pencils. Didn't work so well. I think the majority of my problem is the materials or lack there of. I was thinking of going to the store for straws and twine to make a better model.
But for the sake of my imagination...
How many separate lines are you using and where exactly do they connect? Think this could be modified to use trekking poles?
Dave said he would make a video showing how he sets it up.
The top end of each strut is connected to the top end of the strut ahead and behind it.
The bottom end of each strut is connected to the bottom end of the strut ahead and behind it.

No. Too much stress!
