Wouldn't that be a hoot? If I get a call, and they tell me that Thing1's tarp split and shredded in a Tstorm. and her hammock is soaked... and then half an hour later, she's got a new rig in place!

Speaking of Tstorms... looks like Pinebluff and West End got a good soaking today, just now clearing up.

We have them over us now.

sounds like "plan b" is covered !!

do post back after their trip, especially the lumber river part, will they be paddleing and camping or just doing a day paddle??

as far as an air conditioner, all you really need in a hammock is a tiny fan hanging from the ridgeline

hope they have a blast, and them being prepared will help make sure that they do. Pat yourself on the back!!

Day paddle... Thing1 has my camera, spare bats and memory cards. I encouraged her to use the video. Perhaps she'll do a trip report!

I'm wonder if Running Feather has a 'pat-yourself-on-the-back' emoticon...

I have to say, I am so proud of The "Things" especially after meeting Thing 1 in Jan.

Seeing her handle the weather & conditions in Jan, I am TOTALLY CONFIDENT in her abilities & figure she will be helping the other campers (AND the Adults) with their "Plan Bs" & possibly plan C thru Z.
When you have a backpack on, no matter where you are, you’re home.
PAIN is INEVITABLE. MISERY is OPTIONAL.

Thank you kindly, Doctari. She'll appreciate that. Can't wait to hear her story... bound to have been some problems with all the Tstorms we're having this week.

I slept in a hammock in the jungle in Belize in April - no bugs and very comfortable. Maybe TTT doesn't know how to use a hammock properly. I'm sure he will by the end of Thing 1 & 2's trip!

P.S. I guess that makes you Plan B!

They have a Backwoods Daydreamer Winter Dream tarp, a Speer Winter Tarp and two silnylon Molly Mac Gear Boxes. If anything got wet, it was not under the tarps or inside the Gear Boxes!

Smiling Face said to thank you again, and tell you that she appreciates your kind offer!

Now, when I tell her I'm going riding in UWharrie, she'll be ok with it when I tell her I'm going with you!
