Flip a coin!!!! As either tarp will do you just fine, there are very small differences between the two but nothing functionally different! Door's can be had for both tarps (if not most tarps out there) from 2QZQ (which make a great product), and Warbonnet!

You can't lose on either. Both Brandon and Brian make fantastic tarps!

I think Warbonnet offers a discount on purchasing both hammock and tarp though...

And your shipping would be cheaper. (Since each tarp is a winner, this may be a way to think about it.)

The Deluxe is a GREAT 3 season tarp. I have it myself. The Big Mamajamba with doors allows it to be a great 4 season tarp for winter use if you decide to hike and hammock during those conditions.

For a noob I would recommend the 4 season use and the bigger tarp mainly for the comfort level will be a bit low when you start out and you would feel safer with more coverage. As your comfort level increases and the more time you spend out camping you will start to drill down and look for weight saving options. Good thing about both tarps is that the re-sell value and demand are significantly high so if you decide to go lighter you have a great probablility of not taking too much of a loss on selling it.

Thanks for the advice everyone. It is nice to have a place that you can come and get honest opinions and not just a bunch of sells hype.
