    HH Explorer Deluxe

    Bottom Entry or Side Zipper?

    Anyone compare the two side by side?\

    This will we my first hammock purchase.

    if you are going to be in an area with LOTS of bugs... i.e: malaria carrying mosquitoes, get the bottom entry.

    if this isnt going to be a common occurrence then get the side zipper... bear in mind that you can always get the zipper mod from http://www.2qzqhammockhanger.com/id2.html

    I have the traditional bottom entry Explorer. I think the side entry is a more convenient choice but what trekkingnut says is true. Nothing beats the bottom entry for mosquito protection.

    Also highly recommend the zipper mod!

    do the zipper models allow the netting to be thrown over the ridgeline?

    Yes. They even provide a small attachment point for the netting to attach to the hammock body to prevent it from falling back down when you move around in the hammock.
