Get her to a group hang. Once she sees how much fun it is, she'll be convinced.

Oh, BTW, or P.S., whatever: So she couldn't stand being closed up inside a bugnet in the warmth and humidity? ( frankly, not sure how she would be better off in a tent, but I digress)
So how about this? Permethrin most of that hammocks surface, maybe even the outer surface of a TQ if used, and her sleeping clothes and hat if she wore one. Actually, sleep in at least a base ball cap well covered with Permethrin. Put Picaridin 20% on exposed skin (does not stink or bother me at all like DEET does. Maybe use a head net at most, if needed.
Then just leave those tarps wide open and sleep under the stars! Let any breeze, if any, blow right over you. Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite!
I am working out the details for a hike/trail maintenance trip in September. I can't wait to go. I have yet to hike the SHT and from what I have been reading, this will be a blast of a trip.
I just got back from Midwest Mountaineering with my crisp new SHT maps. They have that new map smell to them.

I just got back from a similar trip (Solo) with upper 90s temp & 9,000,000% humidity,
I left both quilts at home, carried a small light fleece blanket & slept like a baby both nights.
I'm betting that given cooler weather (& maybe a few nights on the ground as a reminder) she will go back to swinging.

Hanging, Doctari... she will go back to hanging.

Nice report! The heat/bugs/sweating thing can be adjusted. Just keep on headin into the Piney woods! Like the butterfly shot, too!
Oh ...and my banjo (CC 100 R) makes its own faces!

Backpacking and camping in high heat and humidity is...well, not pleasant!
Starting the evening without UQ in place is a decent solution until it cools down enough to reach under and pull it back into place (thank goodness for shock cord's stretchiness!).

The difference in a redhead and a terrorist? You can negotiate with a terrorist.
I always wondered why other people make those faces when I play my banjo.
