    spreader bars

Where can I get some? I would think I'd like to find them as wide as 42"-48" for my shoulder end, and maybe 36" at the foot. Need them to support 250lbs in my first attempt at a bridge hammock. Suggestions? Thank you in advance.
Also, It would be nice to have the ends like that of a tent pole I would imagine to fit into a grommeted corner? Is this not the way to do it? I just think that would be easy. Either way, I'm going to need some bars.

I use Easton aluminum tent poles from questoutfitters, see this page.
I typically use 36" (two 18" lengths) at the head, more like 24 - 26 inches at the foot (I need to cut one of these lengths for that). They have pole tips too. Poke around in my photo gallery and you'll see how they fit into the suspension. I would NOT make a grommetted corner in the hammock and slip the pole there. Unless you enjoy the sound of fabric ribbing and your butt hitting the ground below

What Diameter would you recommend? Thank you by the way for the link. This is exactly what I am looking for.

5/8" diameter for the head end is generally the standard. Mine at that diameter work well. Lately, Grizz has been using smaller diameters for the foot end (at significantly shorter lengths).

    yeah, what ExPXGUY said.

For hammocks to be used by me and folks lighter than me, I've been using a 0.433" diameter pole cut to 24". Has held up so far and is considerably lighter than the 0.625" pole. I don't know where the upper limit is though.

I recently made a hammock for a guy who reports 225 lbs, and I went with the 0.625" diameter at the foot.

the carbon fiber tubes from 3/8 to 5/8 are very strong and rigid, but how do you carry the lengths? I use the collapsible carbon fiber titanium goat hiking poles, kinda pricey but elegant, my lengths are the collapsed length of the poles, (actually the head end is 2 in longer, I have a small extension, (carbon fiber ) built on,gnome
