There may be a factor of perception as well. With the more experienced hangers who have their systems more or less dialed in a 3/4 length summer quilt may be appealing. But for someone just getting into the better bottom insulation it may seem like the full length would be "needed" to keep the feet warm and all that. But don't use e as a guide. I'm not in the market for anything at this point so I'm not even thinking along those lines.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Thinking as a consumer, I think that a full length summer underquilt might be extra weight and bulk in my pack. I would be more apt to buy a 3/4 3 season than a full length 1 season.

If you aren't selling any of them and if it doesn't cost anything, keep it as an option on your website. Give your self 3 months, 6 months, 1 year and if you don't seem to be selling any, get rid of that model or make it a special order only item.

Thanks for all the great feedback!

The sales have been GREAT on everything else, but suspiciously slow on the summer Incubator. I think it may be a "gram weenie" thing.

Meanwhile the summer CrowsNest flying off the imaginary shelves of my site...

I know sometimes having "too many" options can be more confusing than helpful, so I'm thinking to discontinue it and narrow down the options bit...

Sounds like a logical decision. I can see the full length summer UQs going more to the car campers as they tend not to be gram weenies. AHE has the summer KAQs available, and Mac has his IXUQs... So there are options out there for full lengths. A DOWN summer UQ seems kind of an oxymoron...

If it costs nothing to catalog, and you make money on the ones you do sell, the only question you need ask is, "How many customers will buy elsewhere if they can't find what they want in my store?" Once you get 'em in the front door, it's a shame if they leave w/o buying something.

for summer, a full length UQ seems excessive IMHO. Espically because your burrow footboxes are so warm that in summer I havent even needed a pad underneath my legs to keep them warm as low as 40. I might be able to possibly invison some one who only car camps possibly wanting one, but even then is probally excessive. Id determine if its worth it or not by the profit margin you are makeing on them or if some one special request it.

In my mind the more options that are available for people to choose from the better it is. We are all different and have different opinions on what we need and want. If it is not available then people will definitely not buy it. But if the option is there who knows.

...until you get that overnight blast of arctic air that no one forecast, and you are suddenly a wise man.

Adam, just make IX Inserts for it, and it will become your convertible 3 season model. This fall, everyone will want one!
