Generally no, but if you're part of a training weekend with the SAS (scout active support) and you don't have unrestricted access to kids there (aka you're on a small woodland site and the only ones there) I'd be happy to take people I didn't know well without a CRB on the basis I'd be the one being 'trained'.
Some do allow public access, but you pay more. The ones near me don't allow public, just youth movements like scouts/guides/DofE etc.
I've asked Riffhams if hanging is OK (need official confirmation really even if I've seen it done by others)
by the way trekkingnut I've been trying to watch your youtube videos, but as BT puts it 'the world and his dog are online' and it's been bleeding painful having to pause it every thirty seconds to cache it.
Def need an external mic - I got one on ebay (FM transmitted) however I got rid of it in the end because I just wasn't using it.
really??? well thats a shame.... thought you'd be close enough to a substation for it to not be a problem???
i live miles from anywhere in the middle of the country and use normal broadband... everything loads practically instantly...
i dont have anything to record on though thats the problem....
so id have to buy them mic, the transmitter, receiver and then something to record it on to as well... sigh, massive pain in the arse!!!
im getting a new iphone soon, might just buy a tie mic for that and then transfer it from itunes onto the video... but im not sure i can be bothered... lot of effort...
people still seem to be getting the info that they need...
Ive already got CRB cause i work as a dofe volunteer. woo!
Just got some good news from the Danbury site - yes to hangers with tree huggers (I like a warden with common sense). If we're bringing people without CRBs then we have to ensure we've let him know in advance, any youth on site and it's not allowed. We can camp there whatever time of year however (not seasonal)
Another one in the south, here in north London.
Hi Jimmy,
I'm in Scotland & hanging isn't a problem here, I have a few places nearby & get out as often as work & family allow.
Feels like the UK is pretty devoid of hangers so far & no-one in my circle has spent a night in a hammock other some friends who have joined me & borrowed one of my rigs.
Love your videos mate. Switched to the rap rings after watching your vid & it made a huge difference, thank you.
