No, there is no "ridgeline" seam. The only seams on the tarp are where the triangle shaped portions are.
Depending on which configuration you have the tarp set up in, there will not be an overhead seam.
Seam sealing is still recommended, of the seams tho, but they are easy to do.
The diamond tarp I'm offering does not have a ridgeline seam as well.
Ambulo tua ambulo.
JJ, Yes the main is one panel of fabric. But the added triangles give the tarp more than enough coverage. Your hammock is narrow at both ends. If you look at the pics I posted earlier in the thread, you'll see that there is plenty of room.
With the ability to close the ends, your protected. Where the hammock sags the most, the triangles cover that. Even without the ends closed off, there is plenty of protection.
I've got one of the original prototypes strung up in the backyard. This past week we have had some wicked rain and wind. The hammock stayed dry and secure.
Ambulo tua ambulo.

Since the Ogee tarp first saw the light of day here on HF. I've been intrigued with it and all the rigging possibilities. It can be used in about any conceivable situation. After drooling for weeks I was on Gargoyle's website the other day and asked him a question. He emailed me a reply and followed it up with a phone call this afternoon. It really impressed me that he took the time to call me to make my questions were answered. That is customer service of the first order in my book. After getting off the phone I looked at a few threads here on the forum that he referred me to. Then went back to his website and placed my order. So in the near future I will be the proud owner of a brown Ogee tarp. When it arrives I will be perfecting my rigging techniques here in the yard. Before I hit the trails in the middle of next month.

Way to go gargoyle, you took that diamond tarp design and ran with it. Seeing your tarp/hammock at the MI Hang gave me inspiration to jump in and start making my own gear also. Here's the first attempt at all DIY gear. Net is WB copy with multicam 1.9 hammock and storage hammock. Marpat hex tarp based on my Hennesy and adjustable ridgeline made possible with Opie's lesson at the hang and the free amsteel he gave me. See ya at the next hang...Bush
