    Romantic overnight suggestions

Taking the ole lady on an overnight on our way to Lake Lure for the 4th. I'm thinking Babel Tower (Linville Gorge) or Hilliard Falls (Foothills Trail) or Black Balsam (Shining Rock). Any suggestions for a comfortable overnight with a newbie would be much appreciated.

Candles, wine bread, good cheese, and chocolate dipped strawberries are usually worth carrying.

Grove Park Inn in Asheville. You can put the hammock under your pillow, if you must.

a simple in and out off the AT in HOT springs is always nice, with a dip in a hot tub at the end of the hike of course...

Not sure, but you could start by not referring to her as "ole lady"?

I thought it, but siezed the opportunity to keep my mouth shut (not an easy thing to do).

I'm with the others. "Ole Lady" is not very conducive to a romantic interlude. Try her name or a special pet name, you might be quite pleasantly surprised!
