    drip lines on suspension?

I ordered a new DD hammock that comes with web suspension. I plan to try the factory suspension to see how it does before I make any modifications. If I'm happy with it, I'll probably leave it.
I seldom camp in bad weather, but have had a few surprises over the years when the weather forecast was way off.

With web suspension (straps directly connecting hammock & tree) would a strip of cloth tied around the webbing near the hammock be effective as a drip loop?

Another member made a suggestion, and showed his case study, of using S-hooks inline to take care of the drip.

Yes it would .... a shoelace, bandana or a strip of cloth. If your hammock straps have buckles or rings make sure they are under your tarp and you are good to go.
I have a video series for new hammockers .... might give you some ideas: Shug's Hammock How Tos for The Noob

There have actually been a lot of thread's started on this very thing, most did nothing, some did a little, and other's went all out!!
I personally don't use anything extra, I have whoopie slings and I tie up the tail end as a diversion drip string under the tarp and have not had any problem's yet!

Or you could put a twist in the straps. Water does flow around the curve. No need to add anything or mod anything. Worked for me through an AT hike and lots of storms.
Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
