Your Photo Skills are most excellent as I don't remember it being that beautiful

Thanks for the info on the middle river
as I was hoping to bring my 20' FlatBottomCanoe up
to do a little fly fishing from.
Do you think a trolling motor would beat the rapids in between ???
It moves the canoe at about 4 knots.

I am about to order my hammock this week, looking forward to its arrival.

This is my photo taken there,
my girls found something and wouldn't pose for the pic.

Was that you we were talking to at the boat launch ???

Hey bradley; Small world. I was there on saturday the 19th. When i left the launch i was alone, nobody there. It is a terrible road, coming from the Slocan end the road is better but longer from my house, might be worth it tho. I don't know any more info about the river between the lakes other than its only going to get shallower as the season go on. I originally thought there was no navigable connection between the lakes so i cleared a trail to the lower one, which is the bigger lake, but was then told by bob at Hellman's canoes than you can in fact travel between the lakes but i think its one way so a vehicle is needed at the lower end of the lower lake by the bridge where you can take out.. Good luck with your hammock purchase , the HF is the best place for info all about hanging.

I'm jealous. My weekend trip in the PA (Slug Fest '10) pales in comparison.

    Beautiful location and photography.

Thanks everyone,,KM and Fransesco you made me laugh. I'm hoping to doc. more trips as they happen. The downturn has me without work at the moment so i have time to paddle and hike. Because this is a low populated area compared to the East and SE most of the hiking trails go from valley bottom to mnt top and as you can see from the Wolves ears pic the higher levels are still snowbound. Still there are numerous short day hikes around and you've got to get into other things to be out there,, like kayaking. I'm hoping to find a paddling or hiking partner at some point because camaraderie is a good thing also. I do feel blessed to have ended up living in this area for the last thirty yrs. It is beautiful and periodically you have to rediscover it because its easy to forget. Anyway more to come. Today i'm off to the big city, (9000 pop.) p/u a spray skirt and feel like i'm wearing a kilt , after all, i am a Scot.
