Doubt if I could reach high enough up the tree to not be butt dragging at a 30 foot span. But I'm short.

Made a few sets of WS. The 6 footers are what are attached to the BB. Have yet to need the full lengths. Unless I'm hanging from a real thick tree the tree huggers provide enough additional length that the 4 footers would be more than adequate.

Is it 6 foot sling on each end of the hammock? I have been looking at the all in one system from Opie and it says its for a complete hammock, but it is 6 foot. COnfused just a little.

It is indeed 6 feet on each end. Slings are typically made and sold in pairs.

Thanks! Now I just have to figure out how the ridge line factors into it all. I never knew hammocking could be so complicated!!!! But I sure am enjoying mine every night for a snooze on the porch before bed.

Matt, it's a combination of 6' slings on either side of the hammock. Or 8' if you prefer. I have yet to find where 6' isn't enough, but most of the forest here in MI isn't that old.

Hi, could you please help me with a question?
I'm planning to order the adjustable wall anchor from Dutchware. The distance between them will be 12 feet.
I would like to try whoopie slings and the minimum length available is 6'. I will larkshead the fixed eye of whoopies at the Dutch wall anchors and clip the whoopie hook to the CL in the hammock. 10' hammock at the most.
Are 6" whoopie slings too long?

    Thanks in advance

I don't think Whoopies will work at all - you just don't have enough distance between anchor points. The fixed loop on the whoopie will have a bury of at least 8 inches, so that is 10 ft. plus 16 inches, or 11 ft. 4 inches. The bury on the adjustable loop will also be at least 8 inches, so that's 11 ft. 4 inches plus 16 inches = 12 ft. 8 inches.

However, I have a pair of Dutch Whoopie slings with Whoopie Hooks, and the actual bury on the fixed loop is 10.5 inches - same for the adjustable loop. So that's 21 inches on each end of your hammock. If you're using Whoopie Hooks, they'll be connecting to 8-inch continuous loops through the hammock channel. Even if you double wrap them through the channel, you're going to have probably 6 inches of continuous loop on each end of the hammock.

    So that's:

10 ft. hammock, add 12 inches of continuous loop (6 x 2), plus 21 x 2 for the whoopies (42"). So your minimum distance would probably be about 15.5 feet, or about 3.5 to 4 feet too long for you.

    Thank you very much, SS.
It's a pity. I will try the whoopie slings outdoor then.
    Thanks again.
