Well, Dennis, I don't know if this is what you had in mind, but in the not too distant future, you're going to be able to add "Event Organizer" to your resume.

As I see it there were just a few ideas thrown around by a couple of us and it appears like it might be a good idea. It's not so much "Organization" as it's just a group of like minded folk looking for the same kinds of things. Here, it's not like herding cats around, just a slight suggestion and it's party! ..... and I think you're as much of an instigator in all of this as I am!

You should see the bottom of my boat .....
I told them oyster beds what I was gonna do the next time I came thru here!
They can't run and they can't hide ...
but they can get slurped! by the dozens too! oh yeah baby!
    Revenge is gonna be SWEET!

btw, I'd not recommend coming down ol'hwy 87 out of port arthur to get to the ferry, not unless you're ready for some serious 4x4 action in a few places. If there's any water it can be a real mess I'd imagine, as I passed one 4x4 Jeep stuck in the mire of mud. He was just about out though but was wishing he'd brought along more "get out" gear! I myself don't quite have those problems on my "Blue Bayou" (Blew by You) machine. We can get thru all kinds of fun stuff!

    Here's one that didn't get thru ......

I would be up for a hang there also. I go to Rockport all the time. A hammock hang and some wade fishing sounds good to me.

    Wade Fishing for Amateurs

I've fished from boats for 55 years, and spearfished for 30 of those. Just got my first little starter fly rod kit from Academy. Do you suppose I could do any real fishing with it? I could get a Zebco 33 and do some bait casting. What's the best approach? Suppose I'll need a real fishing license for that?

Hey guys this is within my sub 500 miles limit for short trips. According to yahoo it is Trip distance: 480 mi Time: 7 hrs 41 mins. My question is how is the redfish, crabbing and speck fishing? Think fresh grilled fish and boiled crabs. Yum!! The fishing is free within the state park from what I read. I would certainly want to take my yack. I'm new here but want to make some trips to meet people. Trying to stay within 500 miles of my Louisiana home for now. I been out east and west a bunch and love both but, the money and time for it evade me at the present.

I lived in Corpus Christi for 5 years...water temps are still pretty cool in March, and to the best of my recollection, most of the bay critters were still in the deeper holes. I'm not saying to leave your gear at home, however...a few warm, sunny days could make all the difference.

In March, trout will start to come in. You can catch good reds and drum. Sheeps head are good then also. If you can find some croakers, those are great for specs. Specs come to croakers like billionaires to Dom Perignon.

Caught a 26 in spec wadefishing off of goose island in March with croakers. I still get a bit misty eyed when I remember that fight. Beauty and poetry...
