    henessey hammock whoopie sling

I would like to replace my existing HH suspension line with a whoopie sling. My question is: the cover over the existing line has a small ratchet tie-looks like it could be restraining more than just the cover. I would hate to cut it to replace the suspension line only to find out I just released all the bunched-up nylon from the hammock body. What do I need to do to make the conversion?

That is just a cover over the wrapping. The link below will take you to video of how to attach a whoopie sling to a HH.

I believe that is nothing more than a zip-tie run through a channel in the cover. To my understanding the ends of an HH are heat sealed in the gathering. I've never taken my explorer apart to see... but I have seen other models with the covers removed.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

Cut it off carefully. It just covers the end. nothing pops out or is disturbed.
I changed to Whoopie slings and took mine off and replaced them when complete

    As the others said.
I just did mine yesterday (with trepidation). Turned out to be easy!
    I replaced the zip-tie with a 4" long 1/8" (approx) wide one.
I tied a ring close to the hammock end for water diversion and easy replacement of the suspension (whoopie, in this case). I test it in the rain last night and it's out in the rain all day. Should be fine.
