Ultralight failure - fell on butt…

I bought a Grand Trunk Ultralight Travel Hammock at a local retailer.

I set it up and it seemed fine when tested indoors.

I used it for a one nighter on a fairly sloped hillside that I could have never put a tent on.

Then the next week I took it with me on a day hike. I set it up to sit on and as soon as I shifted my weight onto it from my legs it ripped through.

It tore almost perfectly in half.

Very exciting and embarrassing.

I am very glad that I was set u in a save area when I fell, but still no fun!

I am thinking about going ENO so I can return it to REI forever if something like this happens again. I am wondering if this is a simple case of “you get what you pay for”

It is hard to convert people into hangers if they see me bust my butt.
