Bummer - Walmart is not going to carry material anymore

I just found this out tonight. We went shopping and found the material in the craft section completely gone! When I inquired of the manager, she said that they were no longer carrying any material.

Another one bites the dust. Our sewing section got turned into a craft section. They make more money off of crafts.

One reason crafts are more profitable is you don't need an attendant at the cutting tables. Saves on labor costs.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I like to look on the bright side of things, every time Wally World closes a department or cuts back on the selection of products to try to force their customers to buy their brand is another reason not to go there. We live in a rural area where they have run most of the local stores out of business, it seems that now the remaining locals are starting to carry a better selection. I have managed to cut my trips to WM to 4 or 5 a year since they have started reducing what they carry. I will gladly pay a few cents more not to shop there, maybe if enough of us quit shopping there they will slowly disappear.

    Schuetzen,

In our town in order to build their big mega store, they moved further out of town. I hate to make unnecessary trips, so I'm buying from the smaller stores now which are more convenient. I shop at WalMart way less now that they have moved.

Good points. Hopefully a M&P can fill the vacuum.

    yeah, same in PA

My two closest Walley Worlds are removing the fabric section as well. No new fabric, and once the ugly cotton print stuff they have left is gone, nothing more coming in.
