    Climashield attachment ?

Man O Man I am full of questions
1-1/2 season summer UQ, 3.6 Climashield, 1.1 ripstop shell.

    1) How is the perimiter of the climashield attached to the the shell ?

    2) any "cut away" diagrams of the perimeter seam of the shell with shock cord
sleave?? I assume it is some sort of "fold over, then stitch" to create the
    channel for the cord ??

    1) Well, there used to be a tutorial for KickAss Quilts (that I can't find ) but the basic idea is just sew the climashield to the ripstop...don't make it too complicated

    2) Honestly, I never made mine to be attached this way but I'd guess (if I were making one) that I'd make the channel on one layer of ripstop, then layer your materials (outside shell RS/innter shell RS/climashield layer) sew together (channel to the inside) and then turn everything inside out
    These instructions might help
pin it all together and it will start to make sense

...in another thought , make your quilt and add the channel after
you could just sew some 1" wide grosgrain (doubled over) to wherever you want you channel to be. might be easier than the logistics of creating the channel first..

    AC,
I ordered Navy blue 1.1 for the UQ to match the HH classic you sold me, my daughter claimed that hammock as hers, so now we are doing a UQ project together.

    Bob and PS,
thanks for the diagrams, that really clears it up.
I ordered some yellow grossgrain to go with the navy 1.1 (older navy/yellow hammock).
I am starting to get worried - 1st it was gardening, now I am excited about sewing.

I'm sure you'll do just fine.
Grossgrain ribbon can be quite ornery sometimes. I fold & iron a crease in it ahead of time and only sew about 4" at a time.
