Welcome and check out the first annual mi hang this month at yankee springs rec area. Looks like it will have a decent turnout and you will get the opportunity to meet up with alot of experienced hammock campers. Come on out tent, hammock whatever. If you want to try one out I'll be bringin a spare for just that reason.

Saw the thread, but it's my daughters recital that weekend though. I'll keep my eyes open for any other get-togethers.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. Already ordered me some Amsteel Blue line and will be picking up some fabric to try my hand at making a hammock. Great info here.

Ah ha! I see that the DIY bug has already gotten a hold of you. Congrats on taking the plunge. You will not regret it. Somehow you get a greater sense of satisfaction when you DIY.

Usually by pointing out all of the gear you can make and then tell you about where to get the stuff to do it.

It can get a bit costly though.
