I personally would not trust a taut-line hitch with my own weight. It is designed to be a very adjustable knot and I use it a lot on tie out lines. But I would be very reluctant to trust my body with it.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I use taut line hitches on tarp tie outs but would test thoroughly before hanging with one.

I went ahead and tested out a couple knots with the stock suspension. I wasn't able to get the Adjustable Grip Hitch to tighten down enough for my liking. I tried the Rolling hitch and with the single hitch it slipped a bit. So I tried tying another one about an inch past the first. It held great. Granted I was just doing a test hang and not an overnight, but I did try moving around quite a bit and some slight bouncing and it didn't budge. All I had to do was release tension in order to slide it in either direction.

Now on to the dislikes I discovered. The RH only allows a fraction of the movement as a WS would allow without untying it. The reason for this is when the hitch slides up to the end of the hammock you're stuck and then you have to untie it to adjust it further. Where as, the WS allows full use of your entire line without "untying" it. I was really looking to be able to tie the RH once and just leave it. Also, in order to get the RH tight enough to hold, I nearly had to cut my hands on the rope

So, I'm thinking I will be using WSs. Just have to get about making them, now.

Strange, I was able to ride out a NASTY storm Saturday while using the AGH. I do agree on the whoopie sling though that it would allow full length use without retying.
