I started using a tarp I use the mil modular sleep system Its havey but nice looking into a good hammock and try it out again had a mil hammock it was not muck fun Things have come a long way I work with boy scouts Trying to go light let them see new ways to camp hope you can help out
Welcome to the forums. There is a lot of information here - surely more than you need. For a start check out the pages by Just Jeff here and the series of videos by Shug. Then don't be shy about asking questions. You'll get lots of answers - we have each worked out what works best for our own needs.
Haven't had the opportunity of sleeping in a mil hammock, but I hear that the comfort level is well below that of the hammocks used here.
