Well Dameon and I went to check out Lake Greenwood and Goat Island.
I took a lot of pictures of the parking situation, the boat ramp, the campsites on the island, and some fish that we cought.

We also checked out the public access on the same side of the lake as the island. We have concluded that it is not any closer.
To put in at Moon's Landing and paddle across the lake to the island turned out to be a much shorter paddle than I thought it was going to be. Maybe 10 min of paddling for me.
The owner of Moon's Landing has offerend to give me a call if bad weather starts to head in our dirrection while we are camping. He was very nice and also offered us Free Firewood and said we can use his dumpster to toss our trash when we get back to land.
There is no garbage pickup or garbage cans of any kind on the island. So pack out what you pack in.
There is secure parking in a gated in over flow parking lot that is locked at night. Boat ramp fee of $1.00
There is a small store right at the landing that has ice, beverages and other gas station kind of stuff. There is also what looks like a conveniencs store/bar right down the road. There is also a restaurant/bar/grill on the water two coves over from the landing.
Campsite #1 was my favorite site and it was big enough for any group hang all on it's own. However I am still glad that we have the whole island reserved.
I'm sure that I have left out some details, maybe Dameon will chime in with what ever I have forgotten.
