Hey bigwig! Look into spreader bars, I've had a lot of success with them when I convince my wife to tag along. There might not be a practical way to avoid carrying six hammocks , but you could hang two kids ( possibly three if you can go bunk style) under one tarp. I've never used bug nets but one might be big enough for two hammocks. And one tarp is usually plenty of coverage for all but severe weather conditions. For the both of us.

My experimental design is a 3' section of a closet pole or a (1" dowel) with shallow notches cut every couple inches on each end to prevent slippage Tie a Munter hitch (marlin spike hitch) in each suspension line to attach the bar. It's usually the most comfortable with one bar per pair of hammocks.
