Has anybody used this fabric? it comes 63" 30D, 0-3cfm. Its 2nds.
I was wondering if it would breath well.

Make that noahlamport.com and it works.
1oz fabric would be really lightweight. In a parachute scenario, loading is pretty uniform. In a hammock stresses get concentrated. I'd be worried about a blowout in a hammock if you're over..... say..... 140lbs?
Can you buy enough for a test hammock (3-4 yards) before committing to a larger purchase?
I was thinking of using the lightest spinnaker ripstop for covering IX UQs... no load, just a cosmetic covering.

That would be nice quilt material. If you do a double layer of the 1.0, it should be fine for a hammock. Warbonnet makes a hammock out 1.0 double layer and it is rated for 240lb and a max flatness of 190. It's also the same weight as the 1.7 single hammock.
What was the price per yard and color(s) that they have?
I was thinking of using it to make a jacket or a sleeping bag though it would have to be synthetic and not down cause i doubt that its downproof.
The Price was $3 per yard with a min 10yd and $5 cut fee.
Wow - they changed their site so it's much more difficult to navigate than before. Or else I'm just challenged.
If it's good for parachutes, I'd be surprised if it wasn't also downproof.
For comparison, I'm 175-180 and I've been sleeping in a 1.1 oz silnylon hammock with no problems yet. Not a whole lot of nights in it but I'm probably taking it on this weekend's trip for its first field test.

IMPOSSIBLE JUST TAKES LONGER
Just so you know... slittlefield (Scott) sells olive green 1.1 30D ripstop seconds for $2.75 right now (HF price). No minimum, no cut fee. $6 shipping for 1-10yrds. Here's the thread with info.
My latest hammock is using Scott's 1.1 material in a single layer, and I'm 220lbs. I've slept in it a number of times, and had no issues with durability. (of course, now I've jinxed it!)
