    thanks guys,
i want to be able to close the doors shut for rain, snow, whatever.
what is your guys favorite method?
velcro, snaps, toggles and loops, etc?
i was thinking velcro would be cool, but it might be a pain when packing and unpacking, unless i stored it velcrod together, not to sure, just thinking out loud?
    thanks for the input.

last night i sewed on some velcro to close the doors,
i didnt get enough, i forgot that there are to doors, to close,
but it worked out ok, i was going to do 3 10 inch strips on either side, but instead i did 3 5 inch strips on either side, starting at the top a foot down, then a foot between each strip. it works good though, i think it should be enough without having to sew more on later.
the only thing i might end up doing later to it is cat cuts, but for now im really happy with it, thanks for your help scott on ideas of how to close it.

Dalton, looks like the velcro closures work VERY well. Nicely sealed up..

I wonder how the velcro or omni tape holds up in the outdoors,,,,
Anyone have long seasons use and the loops and hook keep clear????

These are the pics of HOW our 12x12 should be looking.
Kevin (The SON) is away on duty, for a bit. I mean to show him these pics so he'll see how our tarp should/can be looking.

    Well done, tight and useful!

The only "mod" I did was adding tie-outs at the ridge...

... since it doesn't have them if you want to hang your tarp as a square instead of diamond-shaped.

I am thinking of grabbing another one and cutting it down smaller for summer use, but the stock tarp isn't heavy at all.

    thanks for the complement tom.

its really not much work, and you end up with a really nice tarp, for really cheap.

ive yet to seam seal mine, i need to get more seam sealer, and set it up in the garage to dry.

Tom, what would you suggest using to seal that stitching?

Nice work! I cut the triangles off of a GG 9x9 once, but it ended up providing very little coverage on those sides. It would be enough, but not if the wind blew the rain around.

I like the way you did the tie-outs.
