It brings a tear to my eye...just beautiful. I really like Multicam, but haven't seen fabric light enough for my applications. So, how much would it cost for you to make a Diamond shaped tarp for me?

Nice job FFB! It looks almost identical to mine. Don't worry about the seam. Put 2 coats of the sealer on and you should be good to go. I had mine out in a nasty storm the other night and she performed brilliantly! The wind gusts were 30-40mph with torrential downpours. As long as you used good thread (I used a Heavy Duty Polyester) and tie points you should be dry. If you get into a nasty storm like I did tie off as tight as you can. The fly will flex and bow like a SOB but it will hold.

Thanks for the complement, But I'm not going into the tarp business anytime soon Plus if you saw my sewing up close, it looks like the ocean......wavy
Except for the Multicam fabric, and plastic tieouts, I found everything at Joanne fabrics. It wasn't that hard to make the tarp but it did take 12 hours.
Here's the link to the Multicam maker if you want to get some fabric.

    The Thread?

You mentioned that you went with a lighter poly thread, fromJoAnne's,

I am about to attempt my first DIY tarp, could you tell me the name & weight of the thread you used?

What kind of thread did you use?

Nicely done. Doesn't it feel great to backpack with gear you built yourself?
