I wear my hiking skirt to sleep in too. Especially if I'm hiking with the scouts. Having a hammock means I don't have a place (inside a tent) to change in. Plus I've found that when I get back up, the skirt (kilt for you guys) just falls back down where it belongs. Now if I'm wet (it's raining) I'll need to get changed out of that skirt. Then I'll just pull on some shorts while wearing the skirt then remove the skirt. Hang it to dry. Put back on in the morning.

I sleep in Boxers/shorts about 45% of the time, Kilt about 45% of the time. Yep, I got the math right.

Congratulations on graduating to more comfortable hiking. Remember to not sit like a guy in public, especially if wearing a kilt as you is supposed to.

Does that kilt make hitching a ride any easier?

Hey whats going on? All the skirt wearers (according to Tinalouise) are coming out of the woodwork! Now Im afraid to hike with you guys in case one of you experience a Marilyn Monroe moment on the trail as a breeze comes up under you!

So, you want me to wear only hiking clothes that make those around me feel more comfortable?

EDIT: Hey, when are you moving to Lancaster? I like that area a lot...

EDIT2: ...but some people dress funny in Lancaster.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. Most kilts are much heavier than Marilyn's dress and the presence of wind from directly underneath is severely limited outside of subway zones.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

So you want to hike with me without my kilt on ?
