Well, sort of ;-). In an effort to reduce the hammock tonnage, having seven, I thought that I would put this set up and see where it goes. Honestly, I have found the Chameleon to be one very comfortable hammock out of the box and hasn't required my standard fiddle with the ridgeline to find the sweet spot. I have used this approximately half a dozen times for truck camping setups. The set consists of 1 DL Chameleon Cloud .71 hammock with bugnet and tie outs; 1 Chameleon Hexon1.0 with tieouts. I purchased the 1.0 Hexon to insert as a liner in the DL Cloud Chameleon because there were reports of the Cloud fabric having the potential for snagging (hint: don't wear your boots or belt knife in hammocks). Since I am a huge Hammocktent 90 degree hammock fan over time I have found that my backpacking preference defaults to going with one of my modified Hammocktent 90 degrees with Zpack custom CF camo tarp.
Think of this setup as three hammocks with a variety of possibilities:
1) DL Chameleon Cloud .71 with bugnet.
2) SL Chameleon Hexon 1.0 that you can use with or without the DL Chameleon bugnet.
3) DL Chameleon Cloud .71 hammock with a 1.0 Hexon Chameleon liner and bugnet. Inserting the Chameleon as a liner simply involves sticking the gathered end loop through the DL end gather match up with the DL gathered end loop. Easy peasy to do or undo.
If you pencil this out on Dutch's site with and without the options it would run approximately $247 for the DL Chameleon and $135 for the SL Chameleon.
Price $235, the fee Paypal charges, and $18 for flat rate shipping.
