Helinox Chair Zero 3D printed feets

Hi, I just designed a anti-sink feet for Helinox chair that can be 3D printed. May be useful for someone. https://makerworld.com/en/models/187...ofileId-206607

Thanks for sharing! I'll ask my buddy to print a set to try on my REI chair.

Snaps pretty tight and it's dimensions are made specificaly for the Helinox. It can fit as I see from the pictures the feet of REI chair looks very similar but I can't guarantee.

Note that the Joey Chair already comes with anti-sink flanges.

I'll report back about REI chair. That Joey chair coming with anti-sink is pretty cool.

If you have to sit on the ground to sit in the chair, it's not a "chair" - it's a fancy pad.

The flanges on the Joey will still sink some in soft sand; just not as much as chair legs without them.
I'd say more, but this is a DIY thread rather than a product review thread.
I mentioned them to here just to inform that such a product - camp chair with flanged legs - exists on the commercial market.

I have a Helinox Zero chair. It weighs one pound.
It was sinking into forest duff. If one leg sinks further than other legs—run risk of chair breaking while camping.
I got rubber ball feet—style Vulcan
I leave them on all the time. Now the chair will not fit in original bag, so I use bag that is for Helinox One (that chair weighs two pounds) The larger bag fits on smaller one pound chair with rubber ball Vulcan feet.

There are many different solutions for preventing chair legs from sinking in soft forest soil.
These ball feet can sink, but they hardly ever sink, and when they do, they usually don’t sink very far.

I’ve seen chair legs break due to sinking unevenly into forest duff.

I have a set of the balls (not Helinox’s, but some copy from Amazon), and they work pretty well. Because of the bag issue, I pack them in the little mesh bag they came in, and figure they’ll probably eventually get lost. One of the pluses (aside from not sinking into the mud) is that the round design doesn’t really hold mud. I’ll probably lose them eventually, at which time I’ll look for another option — I apologize for not remembering who, but I know that one of the guys I’ve camped with in PG’s various small Uwharrie hangs has a set of PVC t-junctions that seem to work pretty well, and were probably cheaper than the balls.

First test went great. And it fits the original bag with feet mounted.
