Dyneema tape?

I received a grab bag with some small sections of Dyneema, some one sided PET tape and the colored tapes in the pictures.
I'm not at all familiar with the colored tapes but it appears to be Dyneema patch tape. Can you fill me in?

I have never heard of Dyneema tape, but I am pretty new to all of this. Replying here to "bump" the thread to see if others have more awareness than I do.

Can I ask where you received the grab-bag from? Can you ask the sender?

Just get some 3M 9485 PC transfer tape. You slap it on your Dymeema and when you are ready to use it pull the paper backing off the 3M tape and and you have Dyneema tape ready to patch or join your Dyneema project. I do it all the time.

I forget the adhesive transfer tape I used for my early "cuben fiber" tarps. I think it may have been VHB 9460. The tape in your picture is 3M's 468 adhesive transfer tape. I bet the 9485 tape that HangingOut recommended would also do the job. The "tape" is just a layer of adhesive with paper backing on both sides. It's good stuff. You'll end up with a seam that's waterproof and stronger than the material you're bonding. On the 3M data pages there is a link to call an expert. I used that when I was researching tapes that would stick to the polyester outer layers of cuben fiber (aka dyneema). The 3M reps were extremely helpful. There are two variables they might help you with (1) the type of adhesive, e.g. "100", "300", etc., and the thickness of the adhesive layer. The thicker adhesive layers are used for attaching solid materials, such as an aluminum sign to a stone wall. I used a very thin type.

It can be hard to find 3M 9485 transfer tape in small quantities. But I think there are other brands of transfer tape besides 3M that work just as well. You can search Amazon for transfer tape.
