FL hammock received as a gift

    Hey everyone,

It's nice to see a community of enthusiasts where information and resources can be shared. I originally became interested in hammocks for backpacking to keep weight down compared to a tent. I received an eno doublenest a while ago and used it once for an overnight but felt like I was buried with the sides coming up so high. This prevented any airflow and was quite hot despite being a pretty nice night by Florida standards.

I'm looking to sell my eno, straps and bug net but it seems I can't post in the for sale forum. Since I can post here I'm guessing you're supposed to start here. I'd appreciate anyone's guidance.

    All the best,
lost in the wma and also in the forum

Welcome from Texas! I did live in the Orlando area for a number of years - never hammock camped during that time, however.
Here are the rules/guidelines for the For-Sale area:

You need 50 posts to start a thread there, but you can see any of them and it would be worthwhile to search the Sold/Withdrawn section to see what things sold for in the past.
    Welcome, and enjoy yourself!

Welcome. I started with an ENO Doublenest Deluxe and totally know what you mean about being buried. One other thing that is quite notable is that the ENO's are ~9ft long. You'll be amazed at how nice a 11ft hang feels! I'd suggest Myers Tech Hammock Lab or Simply Light Designs for a nice step up.

    Welcome, from Tallahassee.

Dream Hammock, Warbonnet, Simply Light Designs, Dutchware, among others are all good. Which gear is "best" questions will get so many varied answers that it will confuse you a bit. To play the odds, I suggest an 11' hammock, an underquilt to match your lowest expected temp, a similar top quilt (both quilts with the thinnest material, and therefore most packable, that you can afford) and a compact light tarp with 11' ridgeline.

Watch Shug's videos on Youtube, and enjoy this fun rabbit hole!
