Texas Hammock Hangers on Facebook is a Private Site so mosey over and make the application to join, or have a Hammock Forums 'Friend' make the invite to you to join.

One of the Annual Group Hangs is at Goose Island State Park in April of 2024, near Rockport, Tx.
They recently finished up with the November hang

Yeah that group is definitely not available nor even private, would love to get into it since I am in Katy and local meets would be fantastic over just heading out of state!
So, I believe that you have to load the Facebook Page and then do a search for <Texas Hammock Hangers>
Once the page loads it says its private and you join for membership.
A day or two later you are in.
I wonder if anyone who makes it in would be willing to be a bridge here and keep us updated? (I don't have Facebook and really prefer not to sign) (maybe I need to get over it)

Well, I've tried to at least get to the private page they have set up and it's not searchable - shows not available when I search.

I don't know who set it up but it isnt in search, it isnt findable at all. Can you provide the actual link to the group as I don't think its available to anyone at all outside maybe whomever long ago got in.
Some dude called Mike Mullen 1 year ago was the only person who could approve people, its not searchable since private. If no one can help get in I will launch a site where we can start to assemble similar info for everyone cause gatekept info is just sad.

This is a closed group of Texas Hammock hangers, (and some of our friends from beyond the borders of The Lone Star State). We're closed to protect the privacy of folks who may be spending time in the woods and don't want the rest of the world to know their house or apartment is vacant and free for the taking.
We are not prudes, however, the intent is to keep the content family friendly for people of all ages.
** If you are requesting to join, you will be asked to answer THREE questions. You MUST provide complete answers to ALL of these and acknowledge the welcome note an admin sends you on Messenger, or your request to join will be deleted.
The "gatekeeper" questions are to confirm those applying are "real", in Texas, and actually interested in Hammock camping. Folks that reply appropriately to all 3 are added. Those who do not respond to all 3, or are companies out to promote products, or are "curiosity seekers", or from out of state or the country, are declined.
As already mentioned, this is a family oriented group and the behavior standard is to be nice. That's it; "be nice'. As long as we keep to that, as we have since we started this group in 2013, we will continue to have something pretty special in online communities.
