Backpacking Uwharries

Camping at intersection of Uwharrie Trail and Dutchman’s Creek
Not to be confused with Dutchman’s Creek Trail

I’ve called this campsite Fat Man’s Camp
Others have called it Scout Camp

It is just over an hours hike south on Uwharrie Trail from Yates Place Campground, Troy NC

Some might park at Yates and backpack an hour south on Uwharrie Trail
There is an open campsite on banks of creek.
If you walk through campsite following creek downstream, then in about 50 yards you will be in campsite with more trees for hammocks.

Some hikers might park at 24/27 Trailhead in Mt Gilead NC and hike north on Uwharrie Trail about 5 or 6 miles

Some campers might choose to camp Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
And some campers might choose to camp Saturday, Sunday

If you arrive before me….you better not get my tree!
