There's a Facebook post that says bikes are not allowed on the Batona Trail. I guess that's why I've never seen a bike on the Batona Trail!

    Come on down.

The road in was graded late last year, and as of a few weeks ago it was still pretty good - your average pine barrens dips and puddles but nothing terrible.

The only time you really have to worry is if the puddles are really big (don’t assume you can go through the middle, skirt the edges, as you never really know how deep they are down here), especially if there’s snow and ice on them so you really can’t judge their size. I got stuck my very first year (2011) but there was snow in the ground, and ice covered puddles, and unknown to me the first puddle on the camp road (a few hundred feet from the paved road) was 12-14” deep but covered with ice. Had to be towed into camp for the weekend. Since then I can’t recall anyone getting stuck on the road IN, at least.

If you don’t have AWD then when you get down the camp road turn in to the left just where the big sign is and the sites start (near site 1 on the camp map if you look it up). If you keep going past the pump, that’s where all the sugar sand is. Not saying you WILL get stuck, but if you’re going to, that’s where it’s most likely.i

I am not happy with my wool blanket that i purched! On one of the chairs i saw a wool blanket with large writingon it. I believe it may have been Jimbo's. Does anyone know the manufacturer's name of wool blanket that was on the chair?

Glad we had some sun for the first time in 2 weeks.

Good to meet, and re-meet everyone. Last time I came to Batona was 2019 I think. Thanks for all the food. Could someone send the Facebook group page that you guys have?
