I just recently started Hammock Camping and I'm looking for folks I can learn from and shoot the breeze with. I'm located in NH, not far from Alstead and Not far from Bellows Falls, VT. MA is about an hour South of me. I moved up here for my wife and don't really know anyone, so I thought I'd reach out!
Come on down to NEHHA (New England hammock hangers) winter hang. It is Jan 5th weekend it is in Chesterfield MA. look at the trip report section in forums also we have a Facebook page. We have lots of gear so if you need to borrow just ask. It is camping near the car so if for some reason you really can't hack it then you can always leave or hang in your car, but really it has been quite warm. We are a friendly, welcoming bunch. Bring your wife too!

Group Hangs are a great way to get started! There are so many places to backpack and hike where you are. Please post pictures and trip reports. We love to see them.

Go to winter hang only if you feel lucky, adventurous, and have correct insulation dialed in for winter temperatures.
Disregard my first comment, get your carcass out there, and if you don’t die, you will be smarter.

Even if you are not quite ready for winter hammock camping, I believe you will be welcome as a day camper—or visitor. Hammock camping groups are very friendly and helpful with your camping setup.
Ask questions, and get2C firsthand all kinds of hammocks rigged in every imaginable way.
If you stay more than a few minutes, bring a camp chair and be prepared to drink some coffee, and hear of camping adventures, roundcampfire!
