A little damp for the weekend, but I'll be there with a popup and rain gear! And this is the best weather for mid-day hammock studies!

    NC Yates Hang Spring 2024 March 7 8 9 10

Not all inclusive, some “Purdy Boil” boosters

Your mug can be a mug with heat exchangers underneath bottom. These look like square rectangular blocks of metal encircling the bottom

A stove that is known to burn hot, such as the Evernew.
Evernew knockoffs are not as good because they lack fiberglass internal wicking

A large priming lid set underneath stove. Not those puny commercial priming lids
I currently use lid from a gallon pickle jar.
The priming lid full of alcohol heats the stove and causes stove to “bloom” in seconds, sending flaming jets straight up to your pot.

Your windscreen should be fairly close to stove and ideally should shield mug too

Shug keeps his alcohol fuel bottle
In his pocket overnight, for first cup of java in am

As an FYI, I'll be making up a big batch of Fajitas Texanas for dinner Saturday night on the flat griddle and everyone is invited to grab some until it is gone (that is after I get my share first!)

Thanks Slugger you are our youngest Old Pro, cooking up a storm.

After many years, I’ve noticed some of our hammock campers are uncouth!
As partial remedy, when I bring our Saturday lunch burgers, there will be an answer to this important question…
“Pardon me, do you have any Grey Poupon?”

Along with our charcuterie board, you will now have instant couth

Howdy folks it's been a while. Made it to Yates a couple of years ago but could never get comfy in a hammock UNTIL I discovered my Warbonnet Ridgerunner. Gamechanger for me. So might be able to get down for Thursday night only. Will folks be there as early as Thursday or will I be on my lonesome..??

Nyrsimon, we will be there, and campfire will be raging and sputtering as it rains.
    Phantom guesses
12 Thursday night, 20 Friday night, 30 or more Saturday night.

Some have said they were arriving Wednesday, but only a few, and they might wait till Thursday.

Might have to deploy a medium tarp, not as large as son of blue. Maybe I should get more rope. A tarp in the pines can’t hurt, and only help our fire

In all the years I’ve been to group hangs, I’ve not one time put up a big tarp. Bout time for me to learn, or better yet, delegate!

I have helped a couple times, but was not much help.

Nyrsimon, bring all your own water.
You’ll need water for your coffee.

I believe I still owe you postage for my Stanley coffee press. Do you take beer as payment?
