I assume there is room for one more?
What time will you be starting your hikes on Friday?

Not all those who wander are lost
Latest start from trailhead 400pm for me
That should give us enough time to set up in daylight.
But if you need to start later, that is ok
Diane Woodell’s Grave is shown on AllTrailsPro
And maybe also free version of AllTrails…I don’t know.
I will camp near Diane Woodell’s Grave
Some of my EARLY posts give detailed directions for location
EDIT plenty of room for all

Can't wait for Friday. Got the Jacks R'Better zip-on under quilt for the Chameleon. This will be the test run.

OK I am in, I think. I'll know for sure tonight but will try to be there.

Y’all have fun, I won’t make it this time but I have the Spring hang on my calendar (as well as a random mid Feb ramble that fits my schedule). Early Happy New year!
Diana Woodell 1901–1911
Respect her grave site. There are two markers. One is a slab of stone, possibly polished granite? And the other is her headstone with her name and dates of birth and death carved into headstone. The stone is weathered and difficult to read.
Both stones probably were not set deep in ground. They are both still standing, and both tilted, probably due to frost heaves.
Her mother must have been heartbroken to lose her baby girl to pneumonia, and then later again when their family and rest of their small community moved away.
I will camp near Diana Woodell’s grave, but a respectful distance away.
If you become disoriented while hiking into camp in the dark, call out, and maybe you will hear Diana laughing and playing near Poison Fork Creek.
In case it helps anyone else, here's a link to a quick map from Caltopo: Jumping Off Rock - CalTopo
The gravesite GPS coordinates are 35.48890, -79.95240. Looks like a mile walk via the UWharrie trail, or 1.07 miles for the Poison Fork trail.
