Here's a link to the NOAA forecast dialed into the campground. That high of 6 on Saturday is definitely worrisome, especially with 10-15mph sustained winds. We received about 8" of snow yesterday and the forecast is calling for somewhere between a dusting and 1-3" on Friday. I know y'all will have vehicles there for emergency heat if needed, but be smart about making the decision to come to the hang this weekend.

Also, if you prefer using AccuWeather, WUnderground or Weather.com for a longer forecast range than the NOAA site, use Whitetop as the location instead of Mouth of Wilson for more accurate temps as it is at a similar elevation.

I'm working the weekend, so I'll be checking in on y'all from time to time, but don't expect any long conversations outdoors.

You know what I’d like to see? A demonstration on how to use a bear skin rug quilt set. You got one of them laying around Shug?

Thanks to Marci and others who have warned about the weather. If you live within 200 miles or so, tonight is a good night to be testing your gear at home. Last night I was comfortable here in West Virginia, with temps in the teens, but tonight will be a better test, and wind speed is the wildcard. I'll have a second top quilt to add to the mix, if needed, and of course a warm house nearby.

I can't imagine it's too late to move this out to another date, logistically. I know people have vacation plans and such, but risking your safety isn't worth it. I've said my peace.

I am taking my name off the list for this one. I don't have enough PTO to use if I get sick while in the wind and cold Saturday!
