Batten down the hatches with that sustained wind and wind gusts!
No fun to get up and re-stake the tarp, especially in that cold and wind.

You know this already but try to use as many fixed tie outs as possible, trees, limbs, saplings, roots.
I have laid rocks or logs on any guyline that I had to use a stake on in windy conditions.
Good to point that out to others.

Thanks. I thought I would be okay but just wanted some assurance.

I recently used the 20F UQ, UQP and TQ on a trip with an overnight low of 22F where I slept in nothing but my shorts and was completely warm (and actually almost had to vent once or twice). But I know there's a BIG difference between 22F and 4F.

Now that you mention it....I'll have a full length CCF pad with me as well that I can always throw into the mix.

I think you will be good to go. Just made sure you're pretty warm when you crawl in for the night. A short walk around, running in place or some jumping jacks gets the blood flowing. Pout a jacket or parka over the footbox of your TQ. Feet are the first to get cold. Warm feet...a good night.

Good luck, all. I'm bailing - likely snowstorm here to shovel and sundry other excuses. Be safe, and have fun.

Peety is tough AF. If he's bailing, you fence sitters should listen.

Well that's it for me. I was hoping to see you WV. I was bringing students to gain some winter hammock knowledge. But this has gotten too serious for what they are prepared for.

I will try to get up there tonight but honestly, I think I may just wait until Saturday with the wind. Cold doesn't bother me nearly as much as the prospect of strong winds.
