Temps in the high single digits here in West Virginia, and I slept warm in the hammock all night, but there was almost no wind, so probably nothing like you folks had at Grayson. Will mail my solidarity raffle donation check to the Grayson Highlands Friends tomorrow.
This Sunday morning, Hickery says,
About 10 left. All slowly packing up.
-1 was the low. About15 now. Wind was hard last night.

No snow at my house but it did get down to 3 degrees last night. Glad everyone made it thru the night
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
My bones are shaking and I'm not even near there. Congrats to some tough hombres! Bet this one makes the lowest temp record for this hang.

Not gonna lie...I'm not terribly upset that I headed home Saturday afternoon and missed those Saturday night winds (but as promised, I was thinking about you Hickery while nice and toasty at the house watching playoff football )
That was the coldest I've done yet and it was fun to find out that I had enough gear to do it and be comfortable. Looking forward to Yates and some summer hangs where I don't have to worry about trying to crack open frozen eggs for breakfast.
PS - Hitch. Shoot me a PM if you see this. I did a forum search on that user name and the one that turned up joined back in 2012.....I'm pretty sure that's not the same "Hitch" I'm looking for lol.
It was a good hang with great guys. Record hammock camping lows for many of us. Thanks Hickery and Slowhike for setting this up.
I also want give a shoutout to Shug for all his cold weather camping information. I think I used a lot of it, and I stayed warm all weekend. Thanks Shug
Get well soon, 3 weeks
