I have the same issues staying warm during the day, especially my feet.
I guess I could invest in some better clothing and footwear, but it would be stuff that probably wouldn't be used much more than once a year.
Besides, that relentless wind that is usually there, and the cold, just takes the enjoyment out of it for me in recent years.
Been there, done that, plenty of times. Ain't got nothing to prove, so I just help with the planning and let others enjoy.

Hickery is the real work horse, along with the rest of the crew you guys make up.
Great teamwork!

As promised, I sent a small donation to the Friends of Grayson Highlands State Park because I wasn't there to donate by buying raffle tickets. I couldn't find a mailing address for the Friends, so I called the park, and they said just send it to them, marked "Friends". If any others want to do so, the address is:
