Bob, just now arrived at Grayson. He got 20 parking passes. If you are among first 20 to enter park, you won’t have to get your pass at guard shack.
Bob said roads are clear on way to Grayson
And there are sporadic ice patches in the park.

If no one is at guard shack, see Bob for your parking pass. If Bob runs out of parking passes, then we might get more later!

Bob, I expect a roaring fire when I arrive, and you better not get my trees!

Maybe someone will snag about 10 more passes, if guard shack has anyone there

I'm working this weekend, so let me know if you need more.

The road is in good shape right now.

Here's the current NWS forecast through Sat night -
    This Afternoon
Mostly cloudy, with a high near 32. Southwest wind 9 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph.

    Tonight
A chance of snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 1am, then freezing rain and sleet likely between 1am and 4am, then freezing rain likely after 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 22. Southwest wind 8 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.

    Friday
Snow likely, mainly before 2pm. Cloudy, with a temperature falling to around 16 by 4pm. Wind chill values as low as -5. Windy, with a west wind 28 to 33 mph, with gusts as high as 48 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

    Friday Night

    Saturday
Partly sunny and cold, with a high near 8. Blustery, with a northwest wind 23 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph.

    Saturday Night
Mostly cloudy, with a low around 1. Windy.

    For safety:
The restrooms at the park office will be open and heated as long as we have power. You can also fill up water there as well.
If there is an emergency & you're having trouble with cell signal, there is a landline phone at the Country Store.
I'm working 8-4:30 Fri-Sun and will be up to make sure everything is going okay.
If something comes up and you need to reach me after hours, the on call number can be reached by calling 800-933-7275, option 2, option 2 then option 5.
Please be familiar with the early signs of hypothermia and keep an eye on each other.
With the forecasted winds, someone might want to bring an extra tarp in case a gust rips through the amphitheater.

Safe travels & see y'all tomorrow!
    Marci

Alright peeps....just trying to make sure I'm not going to be the "problem child" for the weekend.....

    My current plan:
    • Tarp w/doors
    • HG 20F Incubator UQ
    • JRB 20F Mt Washington UQ
    • Underquilt Protector
    • Fleece Liner
    • Katabatic 30F TQ
    • Loco Libre 20F TQ

That should be adequate for the temps we're looking at this weekend correct?

Hard for me to say, but I would think so.
I have used a 20-degree top and bottom in single digits and been warm, but I have always used an insulated air mat in the hammock too.
A pad of some kind might not be a bad addition or back up.
The underquilt protector should add some warmth.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
