Las Vegas Day Hikes

Going to be in Las Vegas next weekend with access to a car. Anyone have favorite day hikes in the area? Ideally something around an hour away with a 10 mile loop but certainly willing to be flexible. Maybe find a mountain (or large hill) that we are so sadly lacking in Minnesota. We have the ups and downs they just keep cancelling each other out...

Not familiar with bird and hike.com seems to be returning a site cannot be reached at the moment. Found some interesting looking stuff from articles and All Trails like the Gold Strike Hot Springs Trail. Curious if anything has stood out to those who have been before.

Valley of Fire State Park is Beautiful!! it's about an hour's drive, I think, but well worth it.
There is also the Red Rock Canyon Conservation area west of the city.
Be sure to share some pictures when you come back.

Visit the Hike Arizona website. They list a number of hikes in NV.

Thanks for the suggestions! Valley of Fire does look cool. Might bring a plan for there and Red Rock and see what the traffic is like day of. Trip happens to coincide with a big Formula 1 event and apparently a bunch of roads are closed. Can't enjoy the nature if we never make it.
