Help! I am stuck in a village deep in the Himalayas. Six days ago I slipped and hurt my back. I was taken to the clinic by ambulance and x-rays show a Vertebral Compression Fracture between L3 and L4.
Lying down is OK, but sitting, standing and walking is just about impossible.
Because the journey to the nearest hospital will be very hard, the doctor is recommending that I only go in eight days.
Now I am wondering, wouldn't a hammock in a truck be better than a hard stretcher for a four hour bumpy, rough ride? Would the swinging be manageable? Would the curved position be good?
The cold is also an issue. Snowfall can begin any day. I have an air mattress and a sleeping bag. The ambulance will definitely be warmer, but I wish I can rather do it in my hammock.
What do you recommend?
