    48” is wide huh? I guess it’s an extra 4”… I did have UGQ make me one that was probably 52” a couple years ago (at which point Hammock Gear would no longer make custom wider quilts… I do have a 54” wide 0* HG Incubator too.)

    As a “big and tall” hanger and user of wide hammocks, I never could get the 44” UQ to stay put— my trouble was always with the foot end. And probably largely a function of the fact that I’m an active sleeper, even those wider quilts, while the coverage seemed better, they would still slide off the foot end at some point during the night.

    @AlaskanHanger,

    Goodluck in your quest.

    I find it odd that noone will take a custom, down, underquilt or top quilt order. Does anyone know the reason(s) why? Im guessing COVID, depleted workforce, time to manufacture etc. are all in play. What a shame.

    Back to the OP question, if you cant figure it out, maybe look at getting a wide, rectangular sleeping bag. I started with that in my hammock journey, using it as a Top Quilt. It afforded me lots of room to move around in. It was also easier to get in and out of a hammock,than was a mummy bag. I used the Teton 0 degree, rectangular bag in XL. It uses synthetic insulation, but did a great job for me.

    Heartbreak hotel over here HELP

    Custom work, is extremely time consuming. Many times cottage vendor loses money on custom builds,or at least fail to turn a profit.
    During the time a vendor spends on a custom build, he could have completed five or more standard builds. Will he make five times the profit on custom build—NO
    As a vendor gets more business, he tries to stop doing custom builds.
    You might find a vendor to help you get what you want. I think, if a vendor charged what a custom build was worth, then we would see more custom work offered.

    Good luck!

    I don’t know facts…I’m Phantom guessing here!
