Shenandoah National Park Overall Run Falls

I was on this trail for two nights over Labor Day weekend, my son's first two night backpacking trip. This trail has a bunch of stream crossings, every one of them was dry. We carried about 11 liters up to the Falls, which turned out to be a good decision. We didn't see water again until getting back to the bottom of the loop, where there were two or three pools to pull from over the course of maybe 1/3 of a mile.

This was about 15 miles north of Luray. If you're in the vicinity be sure to bring plenty of water!

With a 7 year old, thirsty wasn't an option! He carried another 3 but drank most of it.
