Those aluminum rings - source and use

I might have posted my first inquiry in the General Forum but DIY seems a good fit. A while back I was looking for aluminum rings. I like to put them on the hammock end CL because it makes it easy to swap out suspension types, creates a water break, and prevents any rub/friction on the AmSteel.

Some hammock vendors had carried them but I couldn't find any recently. Googling brought me to www. SlingRings.com

Here are the three sizes that interested me (supermini, mini, small):

Not only do you have a variety of color choices, you can also have the ring etched (engraved) with something useful - like the name of the hammock if you have several with the same colored double-ended stuff sacks.

This is how I use it on my hammock. Note "Red for the head"

They are product-tested to 250 lbs. before being sent out. At one time, the site said they were rated at well over 1000 lbs. but on the last visit, I couldn't find that quote on their website in order to copy/paste it here. Note that the Mini and Small sizes are what most of the hammock vendors carried when they were carrying them. The SuperMini - with the smallest diameter - is even stronger.

It wasn't on their website. It was a response to your question.
Here is SlingRings reply to my strength question. Note the rings are tested to 250 lbs but are rated much higher.

    ****************
The rings are all the same thickness (1/4 "). The smaller the ring, the higher the pull strength. Etching does not affect the strength, it is only in the very top surface of the rings. The average breaking load of the large 3.5" od rings (on a 1 " strap) is 1500 pounds. The smaller rings tend to go above 2500 pounds. Each ring is tested to 250 pounds before it leaves our facility.
