    Question on Asym lay.

I am in an 11 foot onewind. When I have my legs crossed or in a figure 4 I am comfortable. Is there a way to sleep with your legs apart without pressure on your knees? My other hammock is a draumr but not as good backpacking looking for something smaller so I am trying this. I know it is something that I am doing. I do lay asym. I have a structural ridgeline at about 9 Foot 6" line. I am 300 lbs and 5'5.

If anybody can give me some suggestions I would appreciate it.

Try laying at a diagonal in the hammock if your are not doing that. A lot of folks put a pillow or stuff sack with some clothes in it under their knees to help. Good luck.

i recommend shortening your ridgeline. recommended ridgeline length starts at 83% of hammock length, then adjust to your liking. With a 11' hammock with ridge set at 9' 6" you are 5 inches longer then the 83%. Shorter ridgelines equal baggier hammocks, which allow you to lay more on the diagonal.

I've found, in my hammock that I sleep in every night, Shifting my hips a little behind center line and wiggling a bit will take care of the center ridge and be more comfortable.

Figure 4 is good for spreading your legs when you feel the need to.

Thanks everyone. I ended up with a small blow up tube pillow I put under my legs and worked great. I do tend to sleep on my semi side in my hammock more as well. Especially when it is hot like it is now.

lonetracker, What a great suggestion. That is exactly what I would have recommended. Thank you.
otter1's suggestion of a pillow between the knees also helps me greatly.

Assuming you don’t have a built in bugnet I agree with lonetracker. Fwiw I also pack a small feather travel pillow which I sometimes stuff between or under my knees if it has been an intense hike and my knees need love. Yes, I could just use clothes in a stuff sack to save grams. Too lumpy for this princess. I cut grams elsewhere.
