This will be my first time coming to Yates. Is there a cost to enter and park at the campsite? How close is parking to the campsite? Anything else I need to know as a nooby?

I will be there Thursday evening. I'm really looking forward to the weekend.

    NC Yates Hang Fall 2023 November 2 3 4 5

Please leave space for school bus turnaround to back into the parking pullout. Park on edges, leaving middle for school bus to back into. It’s where they turn around school days.

    Edit Gate Is Locked!!!
If the gate is open, small road in camp could allow you to drive down that road to camp further away from fire ring and vault toilet, without backpacking.
Your choice of campsites can range from 25 yards to 100-200 yards from your parked car. Some camp further into Uwharries—to get into nature-privacy, if not afraid of BIGFOOT!

If you park on that road, or anywhere—pull to the side, preferably same side as everyone else—so that emergency vehicles can pass with room to spare.
If you block the road, including power line right of way—your car could be towed.

Say hello, when you arrive, and parking will be addressed.

There is no charge-no fee to camp at Yates.
There is no raffle at Yates.

I hope you will donate cash for our firewood fund.
I buy a cord of kiln dried, split firewood, delivered on Thursday afternoon. Please help me recoup this expense.

Some of our Old Pros, cook to share with us. Some of them will accept tips, and some will not

Some camp near fire ring and vault toilet (small building). Vault toilet can OFFGAS at times—not advisable to camp next to it!

There are no numbered campsites. There are hundreds of trees for hammocks, and some level spaces for tents. Bring all your own water.

There is El Dorado Camp Store-gas station-convenience store-hot food grill, five minutes north on 109
Troy, ten minutes south on 109 has restaurants and a Food Lion grocery.

Edit!!! The gate for gravel road that goes through camp Will Be Locked.
